The University of Ghana (UG) categorizes its undergraduate programmes into four main Colleges. The University of Ghana cut-off points listed below are based on the 2025/2026 Academic Year admissions for First Choice Regular Ghanaian WASSCE Applicants, as officially published by the University.
Important Note: The cut-off point is the maximum WASSCE aggregate you can have to be considered for admission. Despite recent fluctuations in WASSCE results, the University has maintained strict standards for its most competitive courses.
1. College of Humanities Cut-Off Points
These cover Arts, Social Sciences, and the Business School. This college typically sees the highest volume of applications.

- B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Sciences: 12
4. College of Education
The University of Ghana cut-off points for Education are generally more accessible, allowing an aggregate of up to 24 for most specialties.
- B.Ed. (All Specialties): 24
- B.Ed. in Computer Science: 9 (Requires C4 in Core & Elective Maths)
- B.Sc. Administration (City Campuses): 24 (Kumasi/Takoradi)
General Admission Rules
To successfully hit the University of Ghana cut-off points, you must satisfy these core WASSCE requirements:
- Credit Passes (A1-C6): In six subjects (3 Core + 3 Electives).
- Core Subjects: English, Core Math, and Integrated Science (or Social Studies for non-science).
- Distance Education: Note that the University of Ghana cut-off points for Distance Education are more flexible, often extending to an aggregate of 30.
